Armour Road Complete Streets
The Armour Road Complete Streets in North Kansas City, Missouri, is one of the most exciting and rewarding projects for the community. The WSP team produced an implementation plan for three distinct zones along Armour Road, which is the city’s downtown main street and gateway to their city. The team led the public and stakeholders through a robust engagement process with a ‘Meet on the Street’ event as the capstone. Through this innovative effort, the city momentum to implement the plan was accelerated and the city council unanimously adopted the plan and committed funding for implementation in 2018. Our team is now working with the city to implement the mid-term improvements and next steps for the downtown. This project was grounded in public participation, input, and technical components to make it a success.
