Trauma of Drunk Driving Crashes
Scott has spent his entire adult life as a public servant. He has served 28 years as a firefighter, 26 years as a law enforcement officer, and 18 years as an EMT/paramedic (including 10 years as a flight paramedic). He believes that roadways can be made safer through Education, Engineering and Enforcement.
Scott has been active with Mothers Against Drunk Driving for over 20 years. His involvement began when he served as a traffic safety officer with the Overland Police Department. His devotion to their cause took on new meaning after the death of his former academy classmate Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Kelly Poynter in January, 2002, and his long time friend (and the brother of his sister in law) Bridgeton Police Officer Scott Armstrong in January, 2005. Both were killed in the line of duty by drunk drivers.
